STEM Ambassadors
STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and backgrounds across the UK.
You can request a STEM Ambassador to come into school or visit the ITE provider, either face-to-face or remotely. STEM Ambassadors can support trainee teachers in a number of ways, including:
- enriching trainees’ subject knowledge development with real-life STEM contexts
- supporting trainees’ in how they plan and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum
- improving trainees’ own understanding of STEM careers and employability skills
STEM Clubs
STEM Clubs are out-of-timetable sessions that provide young people with the chance to explore aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Their purpose is to enrich, rather than deliver, the curriculum.
Trainees being involved in leading a STEM Club can enhance their confidence in teaching STEM subjects. It also allows them to work with a smaller group of students in a more informal setting.
